The Burtons spent 10 days in Malta on the way to Tunisia. Can anyone supply me with information about the visit? Certainly Burton's impression of the Maltese was rather unfavourable ... as can bee seen from the footnotes of some of his works. How did he form his opinions? David

i am reading his biography by edgar rice. seems the complaints were about several countries on his way to n africa. if you havent read this book i suggest it. it gives insight into his opnions. r
