ARE COPIES OF THIS PROGRAM AVAILABLE ANYWHERE?

If the programme you are talking about is the one that first brought Burton to my attention back in the 70's I would doubt that a copy is available unless anyone has made one of a repeat run of the series. I think your best bet is to try the BBC directly. Regards, Toni Pilbrow.

I remembered it from the early 1970s on TV in Australia (on the noncommercial ABC channel) and wondered why it was never shown again. However, it turned up on the same channel in the mid-90s and shown once. I then found it on the Odyssey cable documentary channel in 2001 or 2002 (shown 2 or 3 times but not at the most convenient times to see or try and tape). So it's still around but apparently not yet considered worthy of release as a BBC documentary video boxed set or DVD. I managed to tape some of it but need to keep an eye out for a rerun on cable. At least here's a glimmer of hope that obtaining a copy by taping it oneself is possible. I don't know if the cable channel has retained rights to broadcast it. Maybe a missve to BBC would sort this out.
